Catskill Mountain 15mi. Loop: Trail-Run or Hike

Slide-Cornell-Wittenberg Loop, Catksill Mountains

Activity: Trail Running |Level: Intermediate+

Price With Transport to the Trail-Head: $60

Price Without Transport: $40

This is a full day adventure on the trails. We will trail-run (and active hike up many of the steeper sections) across 3 peaks for a total of 15 miles on this Classic Catskill Mountain trail-run adventure.

We will depart from Rhinebeck, NY. Guests can meet us at the trail, carpool together from Rhinebeck, or be picked up at the train station. Prior to the trip your guide will reach out directly to answer any questions, review any gear and recommended clothing, and confirm pickup and/or driving meetup details.

Coming from NYC? Usually transportation to the trail-head and logistics are the most difficult part and sometimes hinder us from exploring. If you are arriving via train to Rhinecliff (Amtrak) or Poughkeepsie(Metro North) we will arrange to pick you up in the morning.

Afterwards, we'll head nearby for some beer and tasty post trail grub with new friends!

"The Slide-Cornell-Wittenberg loop is one classic route, snaking 15 miles over three peaks, including 4100-foot Slide Mountain, the highest in the Catskills." (http://www.trailrunnermag.com/destinations/northeast/613-discover-the-catskills)

Common Q's:

1) What's the pace?

Trail-run will be conversational and fun. Active hiking up steep inclines or descents is totally okay! Given the smaller size of our adult group a little spacing out is fine. No one will ever get left behind. This is about having fun and exploring the trails. Not a race. That said, you should be comfortable with the 15-mile distance. Email us with any questions of concerns.

2) Is it okay if I'm not an experienced trail runner?

Yes! If you typically run roads than this is a great opportunity to get outdoors and hit the trails.

3) Where will we meet?

We will depart from Rhinebeck, NY. Guests can meet us at the trail, carpool together, or be picked up at the train station and driven to the trail-head. Coming from NYC? 3) What should I bring?

We recommend, a running/small hiking vest that has a hydration bladder, trail running shoes, snacks/nutrition for the trail.

4) Does our guide have medical certifications?

Yes, the guide is Wilderness First Aid and CPR certified.
