Morning departure to the Adirondacks. Depending on where guests are departing from and our carpool, the estimated plan of arrival in Lake Placid is between 12pm to 1pm. We will handle all carpool coordination.
After we arrive and check in at the Adirondack Loj we will head into the village of Lake Placid. There are many fun activities we could do like Kayak around Lake Placid, stroll the shops, take tour at the local brewery, or head out on a a short hike! Since our group is small we can dot it all together or split up for a little. Let's discuss in the car on the way to the Adirondacks! In the evening, although dinner is not included in the trip cost, we will head to the Lake Placid Pub & Brewery.
We retire for the evening to rest in preparation for our morning 14.7 mile out and back hike up Mt. Marcy.

Rise and shine it's time to scale the tallest peak in NY! We fuel our bodies with a buffet breakfast at the lodge before preparing for today's 14.7 mile hike. Mid morning we begin our adventure on the trail. The first 3 miles on the trail to Marcy Damn great for running if anyone would like to trail-run a bit, before scrambling up the more technical rock riverbed. We will clear the tree line around the last mile of the hike to the top. Here the real fun begins when we scale and wind our way up larger boulders and rocks with yellow painted lines. The views from this point onward are stunning. Once at the top we'll take a break to eat a snack, rest, enjoy the views, and learn about the unique vegetation at the top of the mountain before making our return to the base.
After the hike we'll enjoy free time in Lake Placid to browse the shops and eat lunch. We will give our top recommendations for a scrumptious post hike meal, from the brewery to an incredible gourmet sandwich shop there's something for all.
With weary legs, full bellies, and a feeling of satisfaction from a weekend of friendsand outdoor adventure we make our departure for NYC. Depending on traffic we will arrive back to Rhinebeck (if any guests need drop off there) and then Manhattan sometime in the later evening hours.
1 Night at the Adirondack Loj in our own private group loft equipped with single beds. The loj is conveniently located next to the trail-head.
